Homestay Program in Perak, a true essence of Malaysian lifestyle

Staying with a foster family is the best, true and unforgettable experience of the Malaysian 'kampung' living. These villages or 'kampung' are typically scenic countryside away from the hustle bustle urban life. Majority of these villagers still maintain their heritage and traditional ways of life in terms of food, sports, dance and home-base industries. Sometime the homestay program involves a few nearby villages that enhance the harmonious relationship amongst them.It also benefits the tourist to understand the local community. During a longer stay, you get to explore the interesting nearby places of interest.

Example of 2 Days 1 Night itinerary at Homestay Maju Manik

Day 1 ~ arrives at Maju Manik Community Hall for a brief welcome ceremony of ‘rebana perak’ and welcome drink of ‘Rindu’ coffee. Briefing and video presentation before the hand-over to foster family. After dinner, cultural performance of ‘Pukung’ / ‘Nasyid’ / ‘Marhaban’/ Children dance / ‘Ghazali’ party

Day 2 ~Breakfast with the foster family. Visit cottage industries of ‘kerisek’, coffee and ‘bahulu’. Paddy field activities. Return to foster family for lunch and packed. Proceed to Community Hall for farewell reception and homeward bound.

Example of 3 Days 2 Nights itinerary at Homestay Bagan Datoh

Day 1 ~ at 12noon, you arrive at Bagon Datoh Community Hall for a brief welcome ceremony, hand-over to foster family and proceed to the foster family home for lunch. Interact with the foster family with activity organized by them.

Day 2 ~ Breakfast at foster family home. Visit the historical place ‘Beting Beras Basah’ where it is the sacred spot for the royal family of Perak during the installation of the crown. Return to the foster family for lunch and rest. In the evening, visit the cottage industry of processing Virgin coconut oil and sightseeing the Bagan Datoh jetty. Return to the foster family for tea and rest. After dinner, proceed to the Community hall for a Cultural dance performance of ‘dabus’/’zapin’/’lenggok’/’bubu menari’ or Martial Art ‘Silat Banten Betawi’ or Karaoke.

Day 3 ~ Breakfast at foster family home. At 9am, participate in the optional choice of telematch or traditional fishing. Return to foster family for lunch and packing. At 3.30pm, farewell reception at the Community Hall and proceed for homeward bound.
